Wonder of wonders, miracle of miracles!

Haha, I was trying to thing of a fun subject line and this is the first thing that popped into my head, but it has nothing to do with my week 😂

I forgot to tell a fun story in my email last week so here you go!! My companion and I were in McDonald's doing some studies and I set my phone on my tray. A little while later one of the workers cam and grabbed our trays and took them away from us! Very nice, I know! So we finish our studies and go to leave and I wanted to turn on a song in the car because I had an unconsecrated song stuck in my head from McDonald's. So anyways I'm looking and looking and I can't find my phone! I check all of my pockets at least three times and it is nowhere to be found! So I figure I left it in McDonald's! As we drive farther away my phone disconnects from the car because it's too far away so at this point I am 99.99% sure it's in McDonald's and then when we turn around and drive back to McDonald's my phone reconnects to the car. So at this point I am 100% sure my phone is in McDonald's. We have a pretty good idea of what happened and I am fully prepared to go dumpster diving to find it! Haha! So I say to Sister Nye, "I have a distinct impression that it's in McDonald's!" So I take one step inside McDonald's. One single step and I stop. All of a sudden I feel a weight inside my pocket and I turn around and look at Sister Nye and pull my phone out of my pocket. I have no idea what happened, but all I know is that I believe in a God of miracles! Haha!!!

On to this week:

Another time we were at McDonald's and this guy who I've been talking to on Facebook works there in the back! So he said I should say hi to him sometime when I'm there. So I ask someone to grab him so I can say hi and he comes up front says hi and then walks away!! As he was walking away I look at him dumbfounded and there is a pickle on his shoulder!! Haha!! Sister Nye and I walked outside and just burst out laughing it was so awkward haha!!

We also went to visit this lady we are teaching and it was so crazy funny! We had bought her some ornaments for her Christmas tree and were going to deliver them to her, but when we knocked no one answered! So we were just like, "let's check to see if the door is unlocked and we can surprise decorate her tree!" So we check... and the door is locked. Luckily all Vermont houses have at least 5 outside doors. So we go to check the other door and it;s unlocked!! So we open the door and walk inside and are like, "Hello??" And this lady jumps off the couch and comes running and is just like, " Oh! Hey, how are yall?" She is totally chill!  She doesn't are in the slightest that we just broke into her house! Haha!  So we chat for a little while and are reading from the scriptures when This lady goes into this story of how she was kidnapped when she was 17 and she goes, "Yeah, and then I witnessed a murder! I know, right? Yeah and then I got arrested because after I escaped I didn't report the murder. I know right??" We were just like, "What in the world is going on!" So then I just feel the strongest prompting to invite her to be baptized! So I do and she's just like, "Yeah, That would be way cool! Oh, I have a question, Are all baptisms the same? Cause my foster parents sent me to a Christian camp when I was younger and at the end they dunked me in a river, but I had no idea what was going on." Haha! We told her that it had to be done by the proper authority and she said that made sense! So anyways, that was pretty cool!

Then yesterday, this guy who we were teaching came to church! We've been teaching him for about 5 months and this was his first time coming to church!! After church was over we walked him to his car and GUESS WHAT HE TOLD US! He's already a member! He was baptized in Massachusetts 20 years ago! Haha, so that was crazy!

It's been a fun week!

I have been so grateful this week for all the wonderful gifts Christ has given us!! I am so grateful for the love and the comfort He offers us! I have felt His presence in my life and I have come to know Him as my brother, my friend, and my Savior! Follow Him and He will carry you through your trials! ❤❤

I love you all so much!!

Merry December!!!!

Hello all!!

This week was a good week!!

Tuesday we went and built a snowman on the green in South Royalton and it was so much fun!! His name was Elder Snow and he was a beautiful Snowman! Sadly he was murdered sometime between Thursday evening and Friday Morning. May he rest in peace 🙏

Friday we went around talking to people and had a really good lesson with this cute family!! They are going through some really hard trials but we were able to have a good lesson and go see them!!

Saturday was the worldwide day of service!! We drove down to Woodstock for the very first time to volunteer there. On the way down we got very lost and our GPS took us to this weird place. We went up to this house to knock on the door and ask for directions and when we got out of the car something just felt very off. Almost like we were in a ghost town. It was so incredibly silent that all you could hear was the crunch of our boots in the snow and nobody answered the door. So we drove down a little bit and fount a maple farm. So we parked the car and walked over to this store area and there was just this huge empty barn with no one and nothing inside except a single shelf with bottled maple syrup and an open cash box where you leave your money. Anyways we were able to find one person in this entire town and ask him for directions haha, but it was fun!! We ended up driving about 120 miles around our area 😲 It was crazy!! We also hacked at some ice on the stairs up to a young mom's apartment for her. Her steps were covered with like 2 feet of snow and 2 inches of ice under that! So we hacked at it for an hour and I broke the shovel I was using, but we got it all cleared!!! That evening we went to the Memorial and helped out up there!

Sunday we woke up and Church was cancelled, so we went to Catholic Mass instead! Haha!! It was a lot of fun! We went with this young family that we are trying to teach and it was a lot of fun! It was so interesting to see how other church's do things!! After mass we went to this families home and visited with them for a little while before going to a mini sacrament meeting with all the senior missionaries. It was a lot of fun and we sang! After that we went and visited some ward members and finished off the night!!

Today we did normal shopping and cleaning and such and as I was leaving to come down here I sliced my thumb with the top of a can so that was fun and it started to bleed a lot, but I think I'm fine haha!! I haven't fainted yet!!

This week I was thinking about this quote from Joy D. Jones' talk in women's conference.
.
“If you are kind, people may accuse you of selfish, ulterior motives. Be kind anyway. What you spend years building, someone could destroy overnight. Build anyway. The good you do today, people will often forget tomorrow. Do good anyway. Give the world the best you have, and it may never be enough. Give the world the best you’ve got anyway. You see, in the final analysis, it is between you and your God … anyway.”

My Dad shared this quote with me right after conference and I just love this because sometimes I let my fear of whatever overcome my faith, but I know that as we follow God and as we turn to him and do what He would have us do we are happier and more full because of it!!!

I love y'all so much!! Have a wonderful week!!
