Booths, Baptisms, and Barbecues

Hello hello!!

What a wonderful time to be alive!!! Who's excited for conference?? I am!!

Tuesday this week we went on exchanges and I was able to go up to Montpelier and Barre area and it was so fun!! We met some super cool people who I just want to be friends with!! We met two homeless guys, Tommy and Jake, who play the guitar, banjo, and spoons, and it was so fun to meet them!! They taught me how to play the spoons and it was a ton of fun!!

Wednesday we had interviews with president and I bawled my eyes out haha! But it was so good!

Thursday we had zone conference and we were forced to get flu shots ðŸ˜² It was fine I guess, but bleh, nobody likes shots haha!

Friday we had breakfast with Brother Sypher and he cooks meals for the missionaries at zone conference and training meetings and such and he was talking about how he has to feed 75 people at the October one and I was completely tuned out haah, so he goes, "that's a lot of pancakes" and when I heard that I looked around and said "where?" And he goes, "Oh, we lost her! " haha, it was funny!!

Saturday, we had a family history booth from 10am - 3pm and that was a ton of fun! Vermont has the cutest little fairs with live music and all that fun stuff!! Then DEBBIE GOT BAPTISED!! I've been here for the entirety of her teaching and it was just so cool!! I am so happy to be here for the beginning of her journey! Then right after that we had a pig roast with the ward!! It was crazy and fun!! At one point during the pig roast we are trying to help one of the people we're teaching get some ibuprofen because she was in a lot of pain, but she can't swallow pills. So we're in the kitchen smashing pills with an ice cream scooper and this cute girl named Summer comes running into the kitchen yelling "SISTER MACBETH WE NEED YOU NOW!!!" So we run out to the gym and Sister Macbeth has to take a minute to try and suck up skittles with a straw and deposit them on another plate. Then we run back to the kitchen and try to help our friend and she's like practically throwing up because apparently ibuprofen in applesauce is disgusting and there are kids running around and all the craziness and it was just so fun! haha!!

Sunday was nice and relaxing! It was the perfect fall day and we got to do our studies up on a sunny hill, and it was wonderful!!

It's been such an amazing week!

I've been thinking a lot about this story in the New Testament lately and it just really touched me because we all have a degree of faith, but sometimes we falter and stumble and we have to get back up again, but even then the Lord helps us. I don't know if that makes any sense, but just believe and He will help you!!

"Jesus said unto him, If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth. 24 And straightway the father of the child cried out, and said with tears, Lord, I believe; help thou mine unbelief." Mark 9:23-24

I love you all so much!!

When you're not only preaching to the choir but your singing a solo in it?

Hello all!! I have like zero time (sound familiar??) So here's something funny that happened this week.

We met this guy on Facebook and had two video call lessons with him. So we invited him to church and he said he would like to come. So we met him for like 2 seconds in person and gave him a Book of Mormon (he's in second Nephi!!!) and he came to church!! Then he stayed after church and went to choir(we had no idea)!! and while he was in choir he VOLUNTEERED TO SING A SOLO NEXT WEEK!!! hahahaha! How cool is that!! I don't even know if he sings!!! Haha!! I'm excited for next Sunday!!! :D

This is one of my favorite scriptures!!

Alma 26:36
"Now if this is boasting, even so will I boast; for this is my life and my light, my joy and my salvation, and my redemption from everlasting wo. Yea, blessed is the name of my God..., who has been mindful of us, wanderers in a strange land"

Love you all so much!!

Christmas In September!!!

HELLO!! LIFE IS SO GOOD!! Haha!

This week was a good one!! We had a lot of good times!

Wednesday we went up to VTC Campus to have a lesson with our friend Jacob and the lesson went really well! So as we were leaving Sister Macbeth starts driving away and I'm checking something on the phone and I hear Sister Macbeth go "Oh.. wait..." And I look up and we're driving down one of the campus sidewalks that's just really wide haha! So I jump out of the car to back her up and this one guy is just watching us laughing and he goes, "How's that working out for you?" Anyways, it was pretty funny!

Oh we're also doing a booth at the Bethel Forward Festival and when we first applied to get into the fair, the lady was like, "Oh I thought you already had a booth." and it turns out that they had been trying to get a hold of us to set up a booth! So that was pretty cool that they wanted us to be there!!

Friday we went over to dinner at the Turinetti's and they are so fun!! They have like 12 kids and all of them are just the sweetest people!

Saturday as we were walking around talking to people we found two new people to teach and they are way cool!! I seriously love the people of Vermont!!

Sunday was such a good day!! Every Sunday we go and visit this cute old lady and the past few weeks she's been a little down and so we were trying to figure out how we could bring her a little joy and we figured what better way to spread joy than to bring Christmas to her!! So we put on our Santa hats, grabbed out our tiny Christmas tree, made some cookies and threw them in a gift bag! We came in singing Christmas Carols and she loved it!! Then we decided we would to the same thing for the other member we were visiting that night and he thought we were out of our minds insane! Haha!! It was so fun!!

Today has just been a nice relaxing day and it was just wonderful!!

I love you all so much!! Have a great week and know that you are loved!!! Here is a poem I wrote the other day!!

A Penny's Blessing
In the morning mist, my head was bowed,
I stared down at the ground.
I walked until my feet did still,
a penny I had found!
I heard a voice that said, "Look up!"
"God's trying to bless you!"
My eyes looked round, but not up high.
I walked on through the dew.
In midday sun, my head was bowed,
I stared down at the ground.
I walked until my feet stopped still,
a penny I had found!
I heard a voice that said, "Look up!"
"God wants to help you now!"
My eyes looked round, but not up high.
I walked on through the crowd.
In evening light, my head was bowed,
I stared down at the ground.
I walked until my feet stopped still,
a penny I had found!
I heard a voice that said, "Look up!"
"There is no need to fret!"
My face turned up towards the sky,
a beautiful sunset!
Though scared I was, to look up high,
I let my faith take hold.
When, finally, I turned to God,
the blessings did unfold.
Sometimes a penny's blessing shows
how much God wants you to
look up to Him in faith, and ask,
"What would you have me do?"

Look up!! There is so much to see!! Love you all so much!!

Love,

Double Rainbows and Sunny Downpours

Hello all!!

I have about 15 minutes to write this and since I am no good at stressful typing I will just tell you my favorite thing that happened this week and anything else that I remember happening! Haha!!

Yesterday was a hard day, but then we met this cool dude named Josh! He had just gotten a police escort out of the hospital and he had two giant black eyes and a chipped front tooth! We talked to him for awhile and sang him a song, but he used to be a youth pastor and then he decided that he wanted to see the US so he decided to become a freight train rider and see everything he could see!! Right now he's going to Maine to work on a weed farm, so that's kinda cool. Haha! Anyways my special miracle for me, was also yesterday. I just felt exhausted and sad and I didn't really want to do anything. But then we had a few good lessons and the miracle was that during one of our lessons it started raining and when we went outside to leave, and it was this amazing downpour that reminded me of Texas! And then as we were driving home, we were still having this crazy downpour but the sun was brightly shining and sunny showers are my absolute favorite!! Then we saw this beautiful double rainbow and I just felt like Heavenly Father was giving me all of my favorite things to show His love for me :)
Sorry again for the short email, but I love you all!!
