aaaaaaaaaannnndd WE'RE SAFE

Hello hello!!

We made it through transfers!!!! Sister Macbeth and I are staying here!! So I love Sister Macbeth with all my heart. She is the best trainer in the area, and this is the best area in the mission, we have the best mission in the world soooo she is the best trainer in the world! Haha!!

My week was awesome!! We did a lot of fun things and met a lot of cool people!! We talked to this one guy, Fred, who started talking all about aliens and such and how if we see a UFO to not be worried because they are friendly creatures and they even healed him once!! Haha it was so fun 😂

My favorite experience was when we brought pizza over to Debbie's house!! She is the sweetest lady and she is on date to be baptized on the 22nd of  September and we are so excited for her!! But yeah, we bought pizza and brought it over to have dinner with her and it was so fun!!

I don't really know what else we did this week, but it was fantastic!! Today we had a district pday and it was so fun!! We hiked patriarch hill here by the monument and then played games at the church! It was so fun!!

I'm sorry for the worst email in the world but I love you all so much!! Have a fantastic week and remember to be great!!!

Love,

Sister Warburton

How many birthday cakes can you fit in a fridge?

Well hello there!!

This week was kinda crazy, but super fun!

Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday I have no idea what happened haha, because our phones have deleted all of our apps!! It's been a fun adventure and I'm excited to see what happens tomorrow without all of our plans that we made...

Friday we had district council and it was so cute because the elders threw Sister Macbeth a surprise pre-birthday party!! It was a lot of fun, they made cheesecake and sugar cookies and blew up a bunch of balloons that they taped all around the room! It was fun, It was also kind of super awkward because they had us sing happy birthday as the opening song and everyone started singing super high and it just sounded awful, Haha! Later that evening we had a lesson with J and C. That was interesting... Do you know how weird it is when you're a missionary and the people you're teaching tell you that they are evangelizing to you as well??? Well let me tell you, it's weird. I just think it's weird because the message we share adds to the knowledge that people already have. We aren't here to take what people have, throw it on the ground, stomp on it, and set it on fire!! We're here to give people more knowledge!! And so when people try to evangelize to us, it's like they're trying to destroy what we know, to take away from us the knowledge that we have and give us less. It's like someone is trying to take our real car that works perfectly and give us a cardboard box made to look like a car and say it's better! Anyways, haha it's fun...

Saturday we went to the Pease's farm up in Tunnridge and it was SO FUN!! I got to muck the stalls of the cows and then(!!!!!!!) I GOT TO MILK A COW!!!! If you know me at all, you know that that's been on my bucket list for years!!! It was awesome!! I'm horrible at it, but it was fun!! We also went up to Bethel and did THREE HOURS of finding... Maybe I sound like the most spoiled missionary on the planet, but that was a long time to be wandering around and by the time we got back in the car I was ready to crawl into bed and never leave it ever again. But then(!) when we made it back to the car we were about to go, but Sister Macbeth made me talk to this guy whose name is John! He was the first drunk person I've ever met! Haha! He was very nice and just seemed like he had a very hard life, but we sang him a song and then we prayed together and it was fun!!

Yesterday was Sister Macbeth's birthday!!! She turned 20 and it was so fun!! We went to church and had like 70 people tell her happy birthday!! And we sang a song in Sacrament meeting! We sang Peace in Christ and it was so fun and everyone was crying and it was just so good!! Then a family from the Hanover ward (we're in the South Royalton Ward) who knows Sis Macbeth came up and brought her a birthday cake with candles and pumpkin spice muffins and cards from everyone in the family! Then we went home and another family brought her a cake and the senior sisters who we work with got her a cute card! Then we went to sing to Sister Pease who is this super sweet old lady who lives in Tunbridge and can't come to church because she's too old and that was fun. Then we went up to Chelsea for dinner with the Gilman's and that was so fun!! They are just the cutest family and we had tacos and ice cream and birthday cake and we got to take some of the cake home. Then we went to Randolph to support Donna at her Baptist church and eat Romanian desserts! Then we drove back to Tunbridge to visit one of the members who threw Sister Macbeth a mini surprise party and gave her a shirt and cake and ice cream. So I don't know if you counted all that, but we now have 4 cakes sitting in our fridge at home!! Haha, it was so fun!!

I love this gospel, I love the Lord, and I love my Family!! Have an amazing week!! Don't forget that you are so loved!!

Love,
Sister Warburton :D

Just Keep Swimming (but not really because I'm a missionary and we can't swim)

Well well well, it seems as if it's that day again!

Tuesday we met with this chill dude named John who is always super high, haha! He is very nice and very respectful and super open! He wants to learn more and seems genuinely interested!! It was actually super funny because throughout the lesson he would text someone and then keep talking to us and when the lesson was over we checked our phone and he had been texting us the entire time! Haha!! It was so funny! We texted him and he was like oops, I thought you were someone else, haha! We also had a lesson with this lady who is on date to be baptized September 29, and it started thundering and raining super hard, but she didn't want us to come inside her house, so we just stood outside on her small 2 foot long porch haha! Oh! Also on Tuesday we invited Kathy to be baptized!! If you remember we met her last Wednesday, on August 1st and we invited her to be baptized on August 26th and she said yes!! It was really cool!

Wednesday we taught this guy named Ed again. He is so nice, but doesn't quite comprehend what we teach him. We tried to teach him about prophets and the role of prophets so we spent about 30 minutes using different analogies and ways of explaining and pictures and having him explain it back to us and he sort of got it. I have no idea if he will remember it at all, but we will just have to teach it to him a few times :) I also had my very first interview on Wednesday and that was good! Oh! On Facebook, I friended this guy and started a conversation with him and I found out he was a member, and then I found out that he lived in Utah and served his mission in my area about 8 years ago... Haha!! The joys of Facebook finding!

Thursday we had zone conference and it was a lot of fun!! We got to talk about Facebook finding and how to stay safe when Facebook finding, family history, and a bunch of other fun stuff! We also went to a relief society activity with Kathy and that was a lot of fun!! We played croquet and ate tons of good food!! It was awesome!!

Friday we met with this guy named Dan and he is just this cute middle aged guy who has no home and no phone and no social media, but we had a lesson with him and he is just so funny! We also taught Kathy the Word of Wisdom and she was like, "Yeah if it's a commandment than I will follow it!" So she is just amazing!!

Saturday we were in another Parade and we filled up over 250 balloons to pass out among the town. We grossly over estimated the size of the town because i'm pretty sure there are only about 100 people who live there and so we had a TON of extra balloons it was actually pretty funny haha!

Sunday we went to church and were able to just have a kind of low key day. We did some finding and tracting and a few lessons, met with some less actives and it was just good!

Mosiah 14:3-5
3 He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief; and [I] hid as it were [my] face from him; he was despised, and [I] esteemed him not.

4 Surely he has borne [my] griefs, and carried [my] sorrows; yet [I] did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted.
5 But he was wounded for [my] transgressions, he was bruised for [my] iniquities; the chastisement of [my] peace was upon him; and with his stripes [I am] healed.

I know the Atonement was an individual one by one experience and that we need to learn how to think about it that way! It is a beautiful message! :)

Facebook Finding Weirdness

Hello Everybody!!

What a week!!

Monday we went down to explore Mcintosh pond and that was a lot of fun! Then Monday night we had a few sisters from Lowell Massachusetts come up and stay with us. I'm kind of awful haha, like the worst hostess because I hate small talk... and socializing with my peers... haha... Anyways!!

Tuesday we had New Missionary Training!! That was fun... Once again, socializing among my peers is not one of my strong points... XD But then we all went back to our areas and it was all back to normal!! We had a lesson with this guy named John and then we went to dinner at the Wilson's! So the Wilson's are this nice family that are renting part of their house to as a guy who is a member and is going to the Vermont Law School. So This guy decided to invite most of his Cohort (Class) to dinner, with the missionaries... We were very stressed, but it ended up being a lot of fun and we just awkwardly shared a message with a ton of nonmembers and then left in the middle of dinner because we can only stay at members house's for an hour at the most. That evening we began what is called Facebook Finding.......  It is the most awkward thing ever haha! You literally go on facebook and friend every single person in your area and everyone who accepts, you message and invite them to learn about Christ! So there has been some awkward conversations so far! Some blocking has been done and some apprehension has been had!

Wednesday we went and had a lesson with Ed and so that was good!! He is about 70 and has been smoking since he was like 10, and then he just stopped, and now he wants to take the lessons!! We also met with this cute family and they are really excited to learn more!! They really want their kids to grow up with religion because it's just good to have that and we agree!! haha We also met the most amazing lady on wednesday!! She is from Nicaragua and her name is Kathy. She moved here in like February and was looking for a church to go to. Someone told her to go to our church, but she was too nervous and then God sent us to her!! So we got her number and a return appointment!!

Thursday we went and had breakfast with a member and that was a lot of fun! He is the nicest member and is a lot of fun to visit with!! Then we went and did some service at this thing called meals on wheels. We go every week and sing for the senior citizens and then help serve a meal then clean up and just visit with all the old people!! That evening we went to dinner at the Ferguson's, the JSM Directors, and they forgot we were coming haha! So we got a quick tour of the JSM and when we came back they had dinner prepared! It was awesome! Then we had a lesson with Jaimond and Caroline and that went really well too!It was a good day!

Friday we had district Council, and I have the nicest district leader ever! He wrote everyone in our district a nice, thought out, handwritten letter! I'm pretty sure he specifically prays and studies for each of us individually and it's just so sweet! We had a lesson with Kathy and she wants to learn more and is really excited about the Gospel!! We also had dinner with the Turinetti's and they have 11 kids!!! How crazy is that!!!

Saturday we had a BBQ at the JSM to recognize the descendants of the people who built the monument!! it was a lot of fun and it went well! it was super awkward at first and a member came up and said it looked like the elders and us were on a date and that was just weird... Anyways I am out of time!

I love you all tons and tons!!!

Love,
Sister Warburton

ps I'll send pictures next week :D
